My name is Karl O. Riley, and I am humbled and honored to serve as your 2014-15 Chair of the National Bar Association (NBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD). The YLD represents the new members of the legal profession, and membership is open to NBA members who are admitted to practice for less than 10 years or under 40 years old.
This year, out theme is “Raising the Bar, while Impacting our Communities.” We plan to “Raise the Bar” and give our members the tools, network, and support necessary to excel and become excellent lawyers–including CLE webinars, our annual YLD retreat, and more. We also plan to “Impact our Communities” by affecting change in local, regional, and national communities, as we combat police misconduct and voter suppression.
We have much in store this year, and we will not be able to accomplish our goals without your help. We plan to build upon the NBA’s and the YLD’s rich legacy and hope that you will work with us as we take the YLD into the future!
